Blackjack or "21"
The
object of Blackjack, or “21,” is to draw cards that add up to 21 or as
close to 21 as possible without going over.
The Jack, Queen,
and King each count as 10 and the Ace counts as 1 or 11 (your choice).
All other cards count at their face value.
How to Play Blackjack
The dealer
begins by dealing two cards to each player and two cards to
himself - one face up and one face down. Players can "stand" (draw no
more cards) or "hit" (draw from the dealer one or more cards until
they feel their hand total is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand
total).
Players use hand signals to tell the dealer when to "stand"
(wave your hand side-to-side above your cards) or "hit" (wave your
hand toward you above your cards).
If you draw cards exceeding 21, you go "bust" and lose-even if
the dealer also goes "bust." If your count ties the dealer, it's a
"push" and nobody wins. |
